1. About these terms
These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the Alibly platform ("Service") operated by Legalpro BV, a company registered in Belgium under number BE1005.495.466, with its registered office at Klein Normandie 19, 1950 Kraainem, Belgium ("we", "us", "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.
2. Service description
Alibly provides hiring teams with structured evidence about a candidate's professional network, built from data that candidates voluntarily authorise to be transferred to Alibly through official data portability mechanisms provided under the EU Digital Markets Act. The Service uses AI-assisted analysis to generate visual reports covering:
- Social corroboration analysis: whether a candidate's claimed employment history is corroborated by patterns derived from professional network connection data.
- Network composition analysis: the seniority, function, and sector distribution of connections at each past employer and across the candidate's full professional network.
- CV-vs-network alignment (optional): when a hiring team uploads a candidate's CV, Alibly compares the positions listed on the CV against those derived from professional network data and highlights matches, date discrepancies, and positions appearing on only one source.
Reports may include the names, LinkedIn profile links, job titles, and companies of the candidate's professional connections where this information is included in the authorised data portability transfer. This information is used to identify potential reference contacts and to provide detailed network composition analysis.
These details are displayed solely within the report interface for the authorised user conducting the evaluation and are not exported, sold, or used for unrelated purposes.
Alibly does not provide background screening services or identity verification services, and does not produce hiring recommendations. Reports are informational tools designed to support, not replace, human judgment.
Alibly operates exclusively through official data portability mechanisms made available by professional networking platforms. Alibly does not scrape, crawl, or otherwise access accounts without explicit member authorisation. Alibly is an independent service and is not endorsed by or affiliated with LinkedIn.
Alibly does not access LinkedIn accounts directly and does not collect or store LinkedIn login credentials.
3. Early access
- The Service is currently in an early access phase. Features, pricing, and functionality may change without notice.
- During this period, you may experience bugs, incomplete features, or temporary service interruptions.
- Data processed during the early access phase will be retained and carried over to the general availability release, unless you request deletion.
- By using the Service during early access, you acknowledge these conditions and agree that Legalpro BV bears no additional liability for issues arising from the early access nature of the Service.
4. Eligibility
The Service is intended for internal hiring teams, hiring managers, and talent acquisition functions acting in a business capacity on behalf of their own organisation. You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to bind the organisation on whose behalf you are using the Service.
5. Account responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorised access.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to access data of candidates who have not provided explicit consent
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense reports or derived data without our prior written consent
- Use the Service to make automated hiring decisions without human review
- Misrepresent Alibly reports as official background checks, reference checks, or definitive confirmation of employment
- Treat AI-generated classifications, network analysis, or CV alignment results as definitive proof of a candidate's professional background or qualifications
- Use the Service in a manner that violates the terms of any third-party platform through which data is ported or accessed
- Use connection details from reports for any purpose unrelated to evaluating the candidate within the specific recruitment process for which the report was generated
7. Data processing
Our processing of personal data is described in our privacy policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our data processing practices.
Where you act as a data controller (for example, when you initiate an Alibly review on a candidate), you are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service and any resulting reports complies with applicable data protection law.
In the context of a hiring process, the employer and its hiring team initiating an Alibly review act as the data controller. Legalpro BV acts as a data processor on behalf of that controller. A separate Data Processing Addendum governs this relationship.
Raw LinkedIn portability payloads are discarded immediately after processing. Connection details (names, LinkedIn profile URLs, job titles, and companies) are retained only within the generated report for the duration of the hiring process. Email addresses are never stored. Reports and their contents are deleted when an authorised user deletes the review or upon request.
Connection data is not reused across reviews, aggregated into external datasets, or used to build independent databases of professional contacts.
8. Intellectual property
All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including its design, algorithms, and branding, remain with Legalpro BV. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose while your account is active.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that reports will be accurate, complete, or uninterrupted. Alibly reports reflect patterns derived from candidate-authorised data and should be used as one input among many in your hiring process. Alibly does not make automated decisions within the meaning of applicable data protection law. All hiring decisions remain solely the responsibility of the hiring team and the employer. Alibly reports reflect statistical patterns derived from authorised data transfers and should not be interpreted as factual confirmation of employment. Connection details included in reports are presented for contextual reference only and should not be interpreted as verified references or endorsements.
The Service uses artificial intelligence for data classification and extraction. AI-assisted classifications, including seniority and function classifications, sector categorizations, and CV position extraction, are statistical estimates and may be inaccurate. They should be interpreted as supplementary signals, not definitive assessments. Minor date variations in CV-vs-LinkedIn alignment may reflect rounding differences between sources.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Legalpro BV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (ii) EUR 5,000.
11. Subscription plans and billing
- Alibly offers subscription plans (Solo, Team, Growth, Enterprise) with monthly or annual billing.
- Pricing is as displayed on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
- Payment is processed by Stripe (stripe.com), a payment processor that manages payment data independently from Alibly.
- You authorize Stripe to charge your payment method for the subscription amount at each billing cycle.
- Alibly does not store credit card numbers; all payment data is handled by Stripe.
12. Free trial
- New users receive 5 complimentary checks upon registration, no credit card required.
- Trial checks do not expire but are a one-time allowance (not monthly).
- No commitment or automatic conversion to a paid plan; you must explicitly subscribe after the trial.
- Trial checks are non-transferable between accounts.
13. Check quotas and overages
- Each plan includes a monthly check allowance (seats multiplied by checks per seat).
- Checks exceeding the monthly quota are billed as overage at the rate displayed on the pricing page.
- Overage charges are added to the next invoice.
- Check credits are returned when a candidate declines consent or the consent link expires (15 days).
14. Cancellation and refund policy
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal or by contacting us.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds for unused time.
- After cancellation, you retain read-only access to existing reports but cannot create new reviews.
- Annual subscriptions: no refund for remaining months after cancellation; consider monthly billing if uncertain.
- Overages are non-refundable once invoiced.
15. Seat management
- Workspace owners can add or remove seats within their plan's range.
- Adding seats increases the subscription amount pro-rata for the remaining billing period.
- Removing seats takes effect at the next billing cycle.
- Each seat grants one team member access to create reviews within the workspace.
16. Plan changes
- Upgrades (more seats or higher tier) take effect immediately; you are charged the pro-rated difference.
- Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
- Data and reports are preserved across plan changes.
17. Workspaces and team access
- Each subscription is associated with a workspace. A workspace is the shared environment where team members collaborate.
- The workspace owner controls billing, team membership, and plan settings.
- Workspace admins can invite and remove team members. Members can create reviews and view reports.
- Each seat entitles one team member to access. Seats cannot be shared or transferred between users.
- Upon leaving a workspace, the member's access is revoked immediately. Reviews created by that member remain in the workspace.
18. Acceptable use and trial abuse
- Free trial accounts are limited to one per individual or organization.
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent trial limits is a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension.
- Alibly may reject signups from disposable or temporary email addresses.
- Alibly reserves the right to suspend accounts that exhibit patterns of abuse (e.g., mass account creation from a single IP address).
19. Support and service availability
- Alibly provides email support at support@alibly.eu.
- We aim to respond to all support requests within 1 business day (Monday to Friday, excluding Belgian public holidays).
- Alibly does not provide a formal uptime guarantee.
- Scheduled maintenance will be communicated via the status page where possible.
20. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
- Alibly may suspend access if payment fails after the grace period (approximately 3 weeks of retries).
- Upon subscription cancellation, the workspace enters read-only mode.
- Account deletion requests can be made via email to support@alibly.eu (GDPR right to erasure).
- Alibly may terminate accounts that violate the acceptable use policy without refund.
21. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
22. Modifications to the Service
We may modify or update features of the Service from time to time, including in order to comply with regulatory requirements or third-party platform policies.
